OUD LESSONS
Oud is a pear-shaped fretless lute of the Middle Eastern origin. Widely popular in Egypt, Jordan, Arab countries, and Persia oud is believed to be a direct ancestor of the European lute that was highly popular on the old continent during Renaissance and Baroque, and eventually modern guitar. The size, tuning and number of strings can vary depending on the region.
Lessons focus on the development of right hand and left hand playing technique, intonation, study of Middle Eastern modes, Maqam, and improvisation.
